THE TALE OF NIGHTMARES (THE LIES AND THE REASONS) {CHAPTER- 3}[PART-2]

{SCENE- 6} [At Jake’s house]

(Bell rings)

JAKE’s MOTHER: (Opens the door) “Who are you?”

GRACE: “Hi! I’m MIA! Jake’s Girlfriend”

JAKE’s MOTHER: “Oh hello! How are you dear?”

GRACE: “I’m doing great. What about you?”

JAKE’s MOTHER: “I’m good. Come in”

(Grace enters the Jake’s house and sits on the sofa)

JAKE’s MOTHER: “My apologizes. I didn’t know you would come. So, as you can see I was cleaning the house and it looks a little messy.”

GRACE: No, that’s totally fine. Actually, I came here to get a report for the project. Jake told me it’s uncompleted and he told me to complete it, so, that we can submit our project this week.

JAKE’s MOTHER: “Oh! He’s irresponsible these days. He should have completed the project.”

GRACE (disguised as MIA): No, No. It’s a teamwork, so, I have responsibility too.

JAKE’s MOTHER: “Alright. His room is on the first floor.”

GRACE (disguised as MIA): “Thanks. Then I will check it out.”

(GRACE goes upstairs to Jake’s room and check out his desk. She finds an old picture of her father with his father and at the back of the picture, there was written “Long live our friendship”. She gets shocked, fastly she takes a picture of the photo with her phone camera and walks out of the house in panic.)

{Scene-7} [Next Day]

(Grace comes out of her room while thinking to herself)

GRACE’s MOTHER: “Hey! Why you look like you didn’t sleep last night?”

GRACE: “Cause I didn’t”

GRACE’s MOTHER: (suspicious) “Honey, did something happened last night that I don’t know about?”

GRACE: “Of course not”

(Olivia comes in the living room)

OLIVIA: “Hey, why am I seeing black grapes in the morning?"

GRACE: “Is it that obvious?”

GRACE”s MOTHER: “Don’t worry dear, it’s okay. You just need to apply some makeup on your face today unlike your sister who does everyday”

OLIVIA: “I guess I’m done here. I’m going to my room”

GRACE: “Nobody asked you to come here in the first place”

(Olivia sticks out her tongue and imitates Grace while walking to her room)

GRACE: Mom?

GRACE’s MOTHER: “Yes?”

GRACE: “Would you mind if I ask about father?”

GRACE’s MOTHER: “No, but why suddenly? Did something happened at school? Someone bullied you?”

GRACE: “No, it’s just about this picture (showing the photo of the picture that was on Jake’s desk”

GRACE’s MOTHER: (shocked) “Where did you find this?”

GRACE: “It’s not the answer of my question”

GRACE’s MOTHER: “I’m sorry, I can’t help you”

GRACE: “Mom?”

GRACE’s MOTHER: “I’m not allowed to talk about this”

GRACE: “Why?”

GRACE’s MOTHER: “It’s the promise that I made with your father”

GRACE: “What? I guess you don’t understand me completely. I’m asking you about this because this is important for me to know”

GRACE’s MOTHER: “You can ask me anything except about this”

GRACE: “Then I guess we don’t have something to talk, do we? I’m going school”

(Grace sitting on the ground while studying at the campus, Jake suddenly sits beside her)

JAKE: “What you learning?”

GRACE: “Psychology”

JAKE: “So...you are going to use those theories on me?”

GRACE: : “I guess so”

JAKE: “I thought you are learning how to spy at other’s house”

(Grace gets shocked and looks at him)

JAKE: “But you failed, you know? Because you left something behind”

GRACE: “What?”

JAKE: “Your suspicious lie that made you disguised as Mia”

GRACE: “OH Gracious!”

JAKE: “You can come to my home”

GRACE: “What?”

JAKE: “Yeh, but this time you have to apologize to my mother”

GRACE: “Alright. I know it was my mistake to tell a lie but you are suspicious and you know it too, don’t you?”

JAKE: “Well I’m sure of one thing”

GRACE: ”What?”

JAKE: “If I will keep sitting here, someone is going to be jelly”

GRACE: “Jelly?”

JAKE: (whispers) “Jealous”

(Jake points his finger to Nick who is talking to other guys while starring at him)

GRACE: “Really? You are teasing me or what?”

JAKE: “I’m just scared of him”

GRACE: “This ain’t funny”

JAKE: “He has muscles. You will like it”

(Jake gets up and starts walking away from Grace)

GRACE: “I will beat you up, if he doesn’t”

JAKE: “Hahaha”

(Nick stops talking with his friends and comes near Grace)

NICK: “What were you talking to him?”

GRACE: “Nothing”

NICK: “Really?”

GRACE: “Yeh”

NICK: “You were talking nothing while laughing like a big asshole”

GRACE: “Excuse me?”

NICK: “Tell me the truth”

GRACE: “I asked him how many cats he has”

NICK: “He doesn’t have any cats”

GRACE: “Yeh and that’s why he told me ‘I don’t have any cats.’ So we laughed hahahahha”

NICK: “Thanks for pissing me off”

GRACE: “OMG, I didn’t believe Jake but you are really a jealous type, don’t you?”

NICK: “Wait, he told you what?”

(Grace kisses him on the cheek and runs away. Nick couldn’t believe what happened so suddenly and after some time he realizes then he blushes and laughs)

{SCENE-8} {[At Jake's Home]

JAKE: (showing the picture) "Look at this. Wait you already saw that, don't you?"

GRACE: "Stop teasing me"

JAKE: "From this picture, it looks like that our fathers were good friends"

GRACE: "I asked about it to my mother but she didn't told me anything"

JAKE: "Mine too"

GRACE: "So...what we gonna do?"

JAKE: "You know your father's address?"

GRACE: "No. It's been years, he didn't contacted us"

JAKE: "Are you sure?"

GRACE: "Yes"

JAKE: "So he didn't contacted you from a long time?"

GRACE: "Right"

JAKE: "What about your mother?"

GRACE: "Of course he didn't, (Confused) "But I'm not sure about it"

JAKE: "Then do your research my spy"

(Jake's mother comes inside the room with juice suddenly, so they hide the photo quickly)

JAKE's MOTHER: "How are you doing, Mia?"

JAKE: "Mom, she isn't Mia"

JAKE's MOTHER: "What?"

GRACE: "I'm sorry, Mrs Clinton but that was a lie"

JAKE's MOTHER: "You lied to me?"

JAKE: "Let me explain"

JAKE's MOTHER: "Okay"

JAKE: "Actually I broke up with MIA"

GRACE: "What?"
