THE TALE OF NIGHTMARES (CHAPTER 2)

CHAPTER- 2 (THE SUSPICIOUS GUY)

{SCENE-1}

(Grace gets up from the bed and goes to the kitchen and drinks a glass of water. While moving around her eyes she sees a man’s shadow from the window of the kitchen. At first, she gets scared but then she calms herself down and tries to see from the window but there’s no one. So, she thinks that maybe it was just her imagination and she goes back to sleep. In the morning, Grace and Olivia are sitting together)

GRACE’s MOTHER: “I made your favorite today, eat”

OLIVIA: “Don’t tell me you are not in the mood to eat today as well. I mean if you will keep dieting with this figure, you will die.”

GRACE: “Thanks for your advice bit**”

OLIVIA: “Then get your chest some volume”

GRACE: “Excuse me?”

GRACE’s MOTHER: (echoes) “I can hear you”

OLIVIA: (complaining and pointing at her) “She started it”

GRACE: “Mom, tonight I have plans with my friends. so, I will be eating dinner outside.”

OLIVIA: “I have plans too”

GRACE’s MOTHER: “No, you don’t”

OLIVIA: “Why?”

GRACE’s MOTHER: “Cause you’re grounded for cursing your sister.”

OLIVIA: “NO….”

(Grace gets up from the chair and acts laughing on Olivia)

{SCENE -2} [Outside the Theater]

(GRACE waits for SHWAN and MIA. Shwan and Mia enters together and meets with Grace)

GRACE: “You guys should get awarded for coming late everywhere”

SHWAN: “I got stucked in the jam”

(Mia thinks to herself “It was my line, Shwan” while looking at his face)

MIA: “I…..”

GRACE: “You….?”

MIA: “I was at my mom’s so I cooked dinner for her”

GRACE: “I guess I forgot to mention you guys should get Oscars for excuses”

SHWAN: “We are not that good, C’mon”

GRACE: “It wasn’t funny”

MIA: (pointing her finger) “I agree”

{SCENE- 3} [At the Theater]

(Grace, Shwan, Mia walks into the theater)

Shwan: (to Grace) “Hey, Mia told me that she will bring her boyfriend?”

GRACE: “I guess they broke up”

SHWAN: “Me too”

(Shwan, Grace laughs while looking at each other)

MIA: (Warning him) “Don’t make me talk about you”

SHWAN: “Uh hum”

MIA: (whispers to Grace) “He’s dating.”

GRACE: (to Shwan) “How can you not tell me about this? Well, now I can see your efforts of Makeup all over your face. Who taught you to do it, you look like a pro now”

MIA: (Proudly) “I taught him.”

GRACE: “When?”

MIA: “Last month I guess”

GRACE: “Wait..”

MIA (turns her face to Grace): “I know, I know. He’s been dating for 2 months.”

GRACE: (Stunned) “How can this be? Why did you betray me?”

SHWAN: “I’m sorry”

MIA: “He didn’t actually plan to tell anyone because of his last breakup, so..”

GRACE: “Oh.. then you got my good wishes, Shwan”

{SCENE-4}

(Grace, Mia, Shwan watching the horror movie and Grace falls asleep)

SOMEONE (in her dream): (Echoes) "Don't die, don't die."

(Walking through the door and then opened it. It's too dark to see the faces of the two people. So, she stops getting near them. she hits something unconsciously and then the woman looks at her in the dark and then she found out that someone stepped in the room)

A VOICE FROM BEHIND: "I don't think you should help him".

THE WOMAN: (scared with shivering hands) "why not?"

A VOICE FROM BEHIND: "Cause he don't deserve it”

(Grace turns around)

THE WOMAN: (Shouts) “No”

(Grace starts sweating in her nightmare and starts turning around slowly and then she sees no one is there. Then she walks to the living room where the nightmare started. She was walking but suddenly someone hold her leg from behind and she gets scared. So, she turns her face slowly to see what is holding her and She gets shocked cause she sees herself with blood on her clothes then she hears the sound of someone’s foot and then she notices a shadow of a man who is coming nearer and nearer to her then her legs starts trembling and she suddenly slips from the stairs. She opens her eyes and sees that the movie is ended and Mia and Shwan are laughing)

GRACE: “Why are you guys laughing so loudly?”

MIA: “It’s not us who disturbed your sleep. You are the one who distracted everyone in the Theater by screaming at the Climax”

GRACE: “I screamed?”

SHWAN: “You don’t remember?”

MIA: “Everyone was looking at us so strangely”

SHWAN: (Explaining) “And we were so fuc**** embarrassed because you were sleeping”

MIA: “I mean how can you fell sleep while watching a horror movie?”

GRACE: “Can you stop complaining guys? cause I’m still asleep.”

(Grace gets up)

MIA: “Well, I won’t complain cause we enjoyed the popcorn”

GRACE: “Wait.. Where’s my popcorn?”

(Nodding “NO” and Acting like “we don’t know”)

GRACE: “You guys are amazing. You didn’t wake me up and ate my popcorn. (serious) I will remember this.”

MIA: (Looking at Shwan) “Scary”

{SCENE-5}

(Grace, Mia, Shwan walks out of the Theater. Grace notices that someone is keeping an eye on her)

GRACE: “Okay, guys so let’s meet in school tomorrow”

SHWAN: “Sure, bye”

MIA: “See you”

(Grace turns and walks fastly where she saw that suspicious guy and after seeing him at the corner of the street she runs towards him but she wasn’t able to find him as the guy escaped.)

{SCENE-6} [At the School]

(Grace, Mia, Shwan are sitting together in the Canteen and taking to each other)

SHWAN: “Hey, you’re boyfriend didn’t come last night. We want a good explanation from him.”

GRACE: “I know you guys are suspecting him because of his rumors about being a playboy but trust me he isn’t”

GRACE: “We wish we could”

MIA: “Oh c’mon last time was different and now, he is changed for good. I texted him where he is when we were at the theater and he sent me his picture with his friend who was in his room that time”

GRACE: “Shwan, if you like him we can talk about it”

SHWAN: “I’m not interested in him but we can talk about his friend”

MIA: “Stop teasing me. OH, he’s calling me. See you in the class.”

SHWAN: “Here we go”

GRACE: (to Mia): “Hey! Can you come with me somewhere after the class?"

MIA: “If my boyfriend allows”

GRACE: “You..!!”

(Mia smirking)

{SCENE-7}

(Grace takes Mia to the place where she last saw the suspicious guy)

MIA: “So, this is the place where you saw that stranger last night?”

GRACE: “Yeah”

MIA: “Wow, this place is so isolated”

GRACE: “I know”

MIA: “But why that man was chasing you? I mean there must be a reason for chasing, right?”

GRACE: “I want to know that too”

MIA: “Wait. What if he thinks you are rich?”

GRACE: “You are in the mood to joke. Wow, I can’t believe that I thought you would be worrying about me”

MIA: “Hey, hey, can you listen?”

GRACE: “What?”

MIA: ‘’ I think someone is coming”

GRACE: “Let’s hide”

(Mia and Grace hides themselves behind the garbage bin. Someone comes there and takes something in his hands from the street that must have fell before. That guy puts that thing in his pocket and starts walking away from that place)

GRACE: “Mia! Mia!”

MIA: “Huh?”

GRACE: “I think he’s the guy from last night.”

(Mia who is totally stunned and confused at that time)

GRACE: “Hey, what’s up with you? He was stalking on me, not you."

MIA: “That is the problem”

GRACE: (smirking) “Why? You wanted him to chase you?”

MIA: (confused) “It would have been better if that was the case”

GRACE: “What?”

MIA: (serious) “Cause I think he is my boyfriend.”

GRACE: “WHAT? That man who was stalking me was no one other but JAKE!?”
